A shiver racked Eric's marred body, like a wave from his upper body to his lower it crawled across his skin in an almost eerie way. With blue eyes scanning the forest before him, he took in everything as always. No, Bronwyn wasn't the best place to be and it seemed like that would never change, but on the other hand he knew he could handle at least some of the creatures that could come crawling out from nowhere. He mumbled something under his breath but continued to walk down the worn dirt path that lead deeper into the forest's pit. Birds chirped and things rustled but Eric knew it all too well. His ears were also tuned into the soft thuds of the footsteps walking behind him. He hadn't told Adia what he was planning for her to do today, but he could sense she already wasn't happy about it.
With the leaves changing and the weather starting to chill, the Arcane master wasn't about to stay inside while teaching her. They could have just as easily gotten the ingredients he needed from another Master, but instead Eric decided he would teach her how to fetch them herself. Yet another thing she would need to learn since nothing would ever really be handed to her if she ever made it up to the Arcane ranks. When storage was low anybody who needed something had to get it themselves, whether it was going out into the wilderness to get it, or buying it off someone by the marketplaces. Seeing as Eric hates anything to do with too many people, the markets were out of reason. It was late in the morning, but the air was still damp and chilly enough to keep him alert. It wasn't until he heard a loud snapping of a branch that he turned around to look at the small frame of his apprentice with a flat look on his face. His blue eyes trailed from her face down to her feet, and he soon realized that it wasn't her who had made the loud snapping noise. At least he could be grateful somewhat for that, she wasn't as clumsy as some of his past ones. With a short sigh, he looked past her to see if anything obvious was following them. For a few seconds he watched unblinking before turning back around and carrying on his way, his boots leaving shallow imprints in the slightly moist dirt.
Eric wasn't much of a talker and Adia knew this by now. Being stuck with him for more than a year she had learned plenty from him. He knew she learned good and bad things, but he didn't care.. as long as it was learning. He never harmed her in anyway physically but he was sure he sent her away on the verge of tears at least a couple of times. He came close to loosing it on her, but he had gotten better at holding his temper.. in the case of letting out violent reactions but other than he knew fully that he was most of the time, an ignorant bastard who could care less whether he did the right thing or not.
It took them a good hour to walk as far as he wanted them to, and within that hour he had literally not said a word to her, nor did she to him. Walking past a rather large oak tree, Eric stopped and then turned toward her finally. He eyed the tree, looked then to his left and then back to Adia. "This is for the most part where I wanted to be." He watched her eyeing him then he let a smirk cross his face. "Your going to be gathering things for me for the first half of today. I won't tell you what they are and what we are doing with them later. Just focus on getting them and not getting hurt in the process." He said this rather dryly before locking eyes with her and forcing his way into her head. Eric, along with a lot of the Arcane masters were very fluid with illusion powers. He put a visual of several kinds of plant based ingredients in her head and then left it be with that. "If you studied like I told you to, you'd know where to find said plants. What I should is turn you loose and leave..." He stopped and looked around for a second or two and then continued "But I have this weird feeling that something is following us." He said this so nonchalantly it was almost like he was going to change his mind and leave anyway. His blue eyes scanned her again, and then he motioned with his hands as if to shoo her along to get started. He looked as if he was just going to stand directly in the middle of the dirt path and not make a move until she was finished with her little scavenger hunt.
